Default New door seals/stripping

Hello there,

My first home improvement project for 2018 is to work on sealing up our doors. We have three exterior doors and one that leads into the garage. I've uploaded two photos, one of the door frame (which has the sealing strip) and another of the door.

I'm assuming the doors are supposed to take kerf seals and the previous owner just didn't bother installing/replacing?

I'm also assuming that I could install kerf seals on the doors, and then replace the existing door frame weather stripping with new (not torn up/ratty/missing) adhesive weather stripping and get the benefit of double seals?

My apologies for the photos on their side. Not sure how to fix that. Also editing to add that it looks like the kerf seal and the current adhesive seal would occupy the same spot, so maybe adding adhesive seal to the trailing edge of the door would give me my double seal.
