This is very important work you are doing...

I just Googled "the earth is flat" and got 389,000,000 hits, and lots was written either by scientists, or by cousins of scientists. Something needs to be done to stop the continuous spreading of this total hoax that is being perpetrated upon a gullible public. Just think of the huge vested interest in maintaining this lie. The lives ruined, the hard earned tax money that is being siphoned out of the lives of honest citizens to maintain this myth.

Xringer, you are the only man who can stop this travesty from going any further.

I'm not interested in the flat earth debate.
My reason? Those people that 'say' they believe the earth is flat aren't going spend trillions of dollars,
because of their belief.

There's nothing wrong with spending taxpayers money, when it's available.
But, to spend money borrowed from China? Not such a great idea IMHO.


When someone who understands science starts talking about CO2,
I'm not going to automatically think he's perpetrating a hoax.
I will listen, and try to learn. If he's just ranting, that should be obvious.
If he is lying outright, logic and/or peer review will expose him, using proofs.

It seems like the speakers were trying to distract the listeners from actual problems.

Good point about distracting listeners from actual problems...

Because Global Warming is an actual problem, and all of the pathetically ill-informed ranting to oppose legitimate scientific findings truly is, as you put it, the real Red Herrings.

Burt Rutan, who wrote the dreadful paper you wanted everyone to take seriously, has a very good reputation for building unusual airplanes, so he can merit attention when he speaks foolishly about a topic he is very ill informed on. So his reputation allows him to contaminate large areas of public understanding.

The problem you have, in propagating mis-information, is that you have no credible reputation upon which to mount your dis-information... so you are only able to contaminate square centimeters, rather than very large areas of understanding.

I'd say it is a waste of an otherwise perfectly good retirement... the Long Night is not so far away.

And it seem like Burt thinks that some people might be lying about warming, just to get money.

I still want to know if there have been any experimental results that refute historic records..
Records of CO2 levels vs temperatures that don't support the idea that any small increase in CO2 is going to bake the planet.
