Its a list of facts about junk mail. Its really pretty sad as you read through it to see the massive amounts of resources that are used.

Wow. That Seinfeld quote is right on, too.

The credit bureaus distribute your contact information and you get all kinds of spam unless you opt out, which, amazingly, works 100%.

Also, whenever a store asks for my address or even my phone number, my response is "you don't need that." The clerk is usually happy he doesn't have to type it in.

I'm happy to report that I don't receive junk mail aside from the BikeNashbar catalog. In fact, I barely receive mail at all. I receive and pay bills electronically, which saves me $25 a year in stamps and envelopes, to say nothing of my time. I read magazines on the internet. Two pieces of mail a month is probably my average.

If everyone were like me, the USPS might have to cut back to one day a week delivery, on a rotational basis like garbage collection.
