Very cool!

However, my first thought was, "what about termites?" Here in Texas, I've left a scrap of wood on the ground for a week and it had termites already. Maybe that's not a problem in Wales.

That's pretty cool. It's like a hobbit's home. I wonder how that would hold up in the northern climates.

I think you would want more windows and light in Wales. Same here in NZ. Not having a roof usually makes the collection of water more difficult.

I have friends who live in a similar home, its has more windows. Some just wall panels of bottles set in cement, which makes it seem futuristic as well as olde.

Would be a cool idea for additional space for your already existing house - say a detached garage built into the hillside - with Garden area above..

No photo sorry Higgy, the house had only the back(shady) wall into the hillside, but had soil and a garden on the roof.

Great thermal design made it cool in summer and warm in winter.

Lots of broken tiles and glass made it really colorful.
