Another youtube mini-split install movie (10 minutes)
A nice movie of a quickie install.
YouTube - Installing Ductless Air Conditioning I think they need some lugs and a crimper for doing ground lines. The video was made private for some reason.. Here's another: Last edited by Xringer; 05-30-12 at 07:59 PM.. |

Reading
What I did when I first got interested in mini-splits, was download a few mini-split install manuals and read them.
You could read these: http://ecorenovator.org/forum/geothe...l-project.html http://ecorenovator.org/forum/geothe...ct-2011-a.html And they should give you a pretty good idea of how to install a Sanyo.. Some other brands have very similar install procedures.

My knowledge of ASHPs is very limited. When I want to do something new,
I'll read up on it and post any questions on DIY friendly forums. However, there is a lot of interesting reading on HVAC sites. You just need to take things with a gain of salt sometimes, using your common sense. Like if someone uses propane, instead of an inert gas for brazing, that doesn't mean that you too, can get away with it.. I poked around on the web for weeks, before I found out that CO2 is a good replacement for inert gas, if you don't have any nitrogen. My advice is to pick the system you want, get the manual and read it C2C. Start your '_______Install Project' thread and post your comments and questions on it. You will be able to start asking pertinent questions, and you should get the attention of folks who can supply you with useful info.. We have a few very knowledgeable experts right here and they can be very helpful.. Without their help, some folks (like me) would take forever to get anything done.
