Better bathroom fan
I have a bathroom fan I'm using as a forced air fan for a fire place heat exchanger. It was probably the cheapest one they had at the time.
It's noisy and now that I expanded the fireplace heat exhanger it could us a little more flow. Anyone have any recommendations for at least a quietish one, higher flow would be nice too but don't have to have it. A computer fan won't work, already tried. |

I have a cheap one now, I think it's the $15 one, it's real noisy.
There is one on the shelf at Lowes that is supposed to be pretty quiet but it's $100. If it's not quiet enough I can return it and special order the super quiet one for a $140. |

I bought a Delta Breez for about $60. 80cfm, uses only about 12 watts, rated for continuous use, 0.8 sones. You can hear it but most of the noise you hear is the air it is moving. Uses 4" duct. There are higher capacity and quieter fans but if you want either you need to go 6" duct or you'll be burning more energy and making more noise.

A lot of fan's noise is in how they're mounted. The quieter bathroom fans are remote mounted, or hung to reduce vibration and distance from the user.

I have an old speaker box I'm going to put it inside along with some egg crate foam.
I need that delta breeze fan. Where did you get it? |

The quiet ones don't seem to generate the same pressure ad the noisy ones.
