I use the Wifi all the time. Great for when I leave he house just change the temp then change again on the way home. Great for vacations and checking the temp anytime.

Here is the thermostat that celblazer is using, the CT-30. It is currently going for $140 on amazon.

Features:
- touch screen display
- 7 day programming (4 periods per day)
- backlit LCD display
- controls 2-stage heating & 2 stage cooling
- wifi control with web and apps for phones/tablets

There is also a higher end model, the CT-80. It is going for quite a bit more at $300 on amazon. However, it does have some very nice features.

Features (all the CT-30, plus):
- 3 stage heating (2 stage cooling)
- can control an external air baffle
- can control an external humidifier AND de-humidifier
- monitor & control HVAC based off humidity, not just temperature

I just need to find a dewpointistat since that is the important measure of safe moisture for a home with finished below grade spaces. Humidity means little, especially if you aren't using the same temperature consistently. I do like that CT80 though. Too bad I can't interface it with my electric meter, but it appears that some can be interfaced with it.

Yeah, dew point control would be really nice!

I also wanted to post up some info on the Nest since other have mentioned it. It doesn't really have a list of features on their site, so I summarized them here. it also has a web interface and tablet app available.

Features:
- learns your schedule
- detects when you aren't home and saves energy
- 'time to temp' shows you how long it will take to get to the temperature you set it to
- advanced fan control (HRV control)
- adjusts itself if its in direct sunlight
- uses A/C as dehumidifier

Here is the next one on the list. I'm actually really leaning toward this thermostat mostly due to the price of $80. It seems a bit more home brewed which I'm fine with. Most of the interface is all over the web, but who wants to program a 7 day thermostat on the thermostat anyways? It also has very good reviews on amazon.

CY1201W
All the features of a digital thermostat Plus

Internet connected through WiFi (WEP/WPA/WPA2)
- Monitor and control from anywhere anytime
- Three independent 7 day programs + manual mode
- Programs can be changed instantly
- Temporary and permanent hold
- Auto switchover between heating and cooling modes
- Customize programs from a desktop or tablet computer
- No batteries required (but requires a common or ‘C’ wire)1
- Auto recover after power outage
- Works with Heat Pump and Conventional systems2,3
- Heat pump with auxiliary heat: 1 cooling and 2 heating stages
- Conventional system: 1 cooling and 1 heating stages
- Maximum control current: 400 mA (any terminal)
- Temperature accuracy ±1°F

Whichever model you get be sure it has a hardwired common. Wifi thermostats tend to eat batteries like candy if they can't get power from the system transformer.

Most of the wifi thermostats I've looked at don't even have backup batteries. They only run off the powered common line.

These are all of the wifi thermostats that I've found that support wifi out of the box. There are others other there that have add on modules that add wifi after the fact. I may add them at a later point to this thread just to make it jam packed with all the wifi thermostat info you could ever want! If I did miss any, please let me know so it can be added.

That being said, this weekend I ordered the Motison Cyberstat CY1201W. It was $80 shipped. They have a 30 day risk free trial if you buy it directly from their website, so I did this. It looks like I should have it in the next day or two.

I am going to have to do some wiring to get this thermostat to work. It needs a 'common' wire hooked up to power it as Servicetech mentioned. I looked at the wiring to my existing thermostat this weekend and I do not have that wire. I only have two wires hooked up. One is going to RH, and one to W. Anyway, I'll go through all this in a new thread once I receive the thermostat.

Last year I bought this thermostat. LockState 7-Day Digital Programmable Thermostat
LockState 7-Day Digital Programmable Thermostat-LS-60 at The Home Depot
Their software is very bad do not get this one.
A friend gave me this one recently. Filtrete 3M50 it looks almost exactly like the lock state I bought but the software works great. You can pick these up on ebay for a good price. Just make sure the wifi module is included.
3M Filtrete Wi-Fi Smartphone Enabled Remote Programmable 7-Day Touchscreen Thermostat with Backlight, 365-Day support (3M-50) - Amazon.com
I just bought the NEW Radio Thermostat CT-80 WiFI Programmable
New Radio Thermostat Ct 80 WiFi Programmable 24 7 Free Cloud Support No Fees | eBay
I think it is a little pricey but I still like it. It will do 7 events a day and run your fan every hour up to 9 min.

****I sent back my CT80 it is just too expensive for want it does. ***
My free 3M-50 works just fine.
I will pick up a second 3M-50 off ebay at some point to replace my LockState Thermostat

If you want logging but do not want to pay a fee. You can get this.

The Radio Stat 2M-50 and the CT-80 have a programmable API.

If you don’t want history and plotting of run times the web interface is free!

The premium service is 19.99 year and allows up to 5 thermostats.

The history this shows is very useful trying to figure out how to best use the new mini splits.
