Default ISD1820 Voice Recording Recorder Module With Mic $3.78

ISD1820 Voice Recording Recorder Module with Mic Sound Audio Loudspeaker New | eBay

I need a way for the CAI controller to alert us, when things goes wrong.
It's got Email, so it can notify us, if the hot water temp gets too hot or too cold & etc. etc.
But, we don't always have our 'devices' turned on.. Or they might be on mute.
Or, we might be napping! Old folks do that now and again. So I heard..

I was just going to add a beeper in the living room, to let us know to check
our email, or look at the CAI status page, with a tablet or PC..
But, we already have a ton of things that Beep!!

So, to make things easier for old folks to understand,
I figured a little voice that said, "Hey! Dude and Dudette ~ read your mail, or check CAI status page!".
Or somesuch thing..
Something like I use for the stand-alone garage alarm.. It's my own voice saying:
"Attention, Attention, garage alarm has been activated".
If we wake up to that (instead of insane beeping), we don't jump up and run around thinking the house is on fire etc..

I already own a very loud Ebay vehicle backup module. When connected to 12VDC, a nice Asian lady says,
"Warning, Warning, this vehicle is backing up! BEEP! BEEP!" (Non-stop).
I like it and plan to use that for our special, 'Things are Really Bad' alert.

~~~~
So, once the Chinese holidays or over and I get the voice module,
I plan to write a PLC subroutine that checks all the temperature sensors
to see if any are out of a + & - range.
Later, I will have to add-on more code for Radon sensor input and to support connections to the security systems.
Just have to make it real good code, I don't want any false alarm emails,
while I'm on a road trip up in NH.. Or at the Grand Canyon..
~~~
What's next? An auto-dialer for the CAI?? I do carry a cell phone now...

Never mind the auto-dial.. I can Text my TracFone by using cellNunber@txt.att.net
Just saved $22 ?

Default Review

It came in a tiny envelope from China.. But it made the passage undamaged..
The tiny speaker worked, but I wanted more brass and better volume..
This old RadShack speaker sounds better.. And, it sounds about 6 dB louder.
We can hear the Announcement clearly in all living areas.
I'm positive that it will wake us up. (Using my wife's voice).

Simple to set up for continuous operation when power is applied..
There is a little low level motorboating in the audio, and the mic
is a bit sensitive for this application. But, it meets my needs, so 4 Stars! ****

Oddly, when I cut the power in the middle of the message Announcement ,
that part will play when powered up later, (Nonvolatile)
and then play the full message repeatedly..

Sorry, I don't do video reviews, unless the product costs more than five bucks..

I did think if of doing one, since my cameras have pretty good audio..

I hope that thing doesn't go off tonight.. It's starting to get cold..

Here's the PLC code that decides.. TSTLE VAR3 110
That '110' means 11.0 F degrees.
If it gets that low, I'll have to get up and fire up the back-up heat..

If it only gets that cold for a short time, you could probably just let thermal inertia ride it out.

Before global warming, it used to be that way..

But that was then, and this is now.

This starts at midnight. Long before midnight it was under 12F..
