Once again this unit is being called back into service. A co-worker (single mom) decided to ditch the rent payment system and buy a place. Said place is a single wide metal box trailer with a teensy little gas furnace. The first cold spell of this year, she figured out how to light it and then how to freeze at night. The place has no central air, but two through wall ac units. One of them was missing it's face when she moved in.

Being a nice guy, I offered to swap the unit in this thread for her broken one. I drug it out of the barn and connected it to a dryer outlet to test. The beast fired up just fine! It was right around freezing temperature outside, and the unit quickly stabilized to around 35 psi suction and 220 psi discharge pressures. I directed the discharge hot air back towards the heat exchanger below with a pizza box, and it shifted towards 40 psi suction / 250 discharge after a few minutes. Good enough for me!

I just dropped off the unit with her yesterday, and it's an inch taller than the one she has installed now. I'm sure someone will have fun installing it this weekend... Not me, as I don't get any days off this week.
