Default Mio ALPHA 2 Heart Rate Watch

I got one of these for my wife's B-day.. She really likes it. She's recovering from a heart valve repair.
We saw her HR shoot up to 147 while slow-walking up a hill... We took a break!! (I watched her rate drop off on the iPad app)..
I checked out my HR and I'm around 60 at rest (with a low of 50. BP meds too much?).. Not fun if I stand up too fast..
Anyways, I like this thing so much I ordered another one for myself, off Ebay.(same vendor)
We plan to use these at our Core-n-Balance classes at the Senior Center.
We have a good BP unit and a good blood-oxygen meter and they do the heart rate accurately too,
but they can't be used easily while out on a walk, or in a Kayak or on a bike!!
These can also be used while swimming!

Amazon.com : Mio ALPHA 2 Heart Rate Watch
Used with free Mio GO app. Here's an old video..

Using the app, you can extract the data and email it, in an Excel format..

These watches seem to be a pretty good tool for keeping an eye on your heart rate.
It's easy to set up HR ranges to control the colors of the flashing LED,
so you don't even have to read the display, to know if you are getting near your top limit..
Since was are in our early 70s now, I think it might be good to take some
precautions when trying to climb a steep hill on my bicycle..
My wife's bike accident record will likely keep her grounded for at least one more summer. Her thing is the Kayak these days..

I love these products. I use to use one when I worked out to keep in the zone.
Looks like a cool product.
