How much is your electric bill ?
Or I might should say " How many Kwh do you use per month. "
( I realize that this will fluctuate from month to month, so lets just say what is your all time best .) I live in a small efficiency apartment, and wanted to know what my useage is like compared to others. Thanks Last edited by Homeless; 05-02-09 at 09:58 AM.. |

My "best" is around $17. Electricity is quite cheap here (I think a bit over 7 cents per kwh). So, I think around 225 or 250 per month for my 1000 square foot house. In the summer, with the thermostat set at 78F, my highest bill was about 65 bucks. The highest kwh per day during last summer was about 17 (on about a 95F, full sun, day).

I would like to see this as part of the site, kind of like the mpg on ecomodder.com where you can put in kwh an cubic feet of natural gas used per month and track it with fancy graphs and tag line numbers... yes.
my last bill for living space was around $18.45 for three people with an all electric kitchen (stove, tea pot, fridge) and $45-ish for the meter that runs the hot water heater and natural gas furnace blowers, a bit of that was some 500 watt flood lights for helping with dry wall mudding. |

My best is 432 kWh with seven people in the house. Worst so far was 660 kWh. I have no AC so power usage should continue to drop as spring and summer continue.

My best was $25 dollars at $0.11 per kWh. Last fall I was averaging about 5 kWh per day. My heater is the biggest power hog. Last December with the thermostat set to 65 my bill was $99. I've noticed that when I have my TV, computer, and fridge running my meter's movement is hardly noticeable. But when my heater turns on the meter spins like crazy.

How about for this thread, let's compare Kwh used per month. The reason that I'd like to compare Kwh used, versus total cost of the bill, is that we all get charged a different rate from our utility company for fees such as a " such and such convenience fee " or a state tax charge ...... that sort of thing. |

Thanks, but its really not that impressive. That is only electricity. I have a gas furnace and gas heated water which are the two main resource hogs. Convert my gas usage to kWh (the W is capital) and my usage is pretty high.
