The problem I run into with using the forums built in uploader is that it limits the size of the pictures you can upload which is a problem for me cause all my pictures are always way bigger than the size limit.

Thanks Zick, that is probably what my problem is, files are too big. I'll look through the links you posted.

I am going to try posting pics again, so here goes.

Here is a close up of the brace I made to help support the glazing. There are 2 of them set at 1/3 from both ends.

Here is the installed panel with the 20 watt PV panel.

Here is the charge controller. Hey it works.

This is the battery and fan setup. Hey it works.

Ok now that I have this Photo Bucket figured out here are more pics, I think every one likes pics.

This is the jig I made to glue cans together. I use a sharpie to make marks to make sure all columns are the same length. They are on either side of the brass slug.

Here is a view of the plenums with most of the columns in.

Close up of the complete top plenum.

Second coat of High Temp flat black paint.

Close up of what I did to keep the glazing in place on the sides. I'll have to find pics of the top and post later or edit this one.

That's it for now, I'll try and answer all questions the best I can. Thanks for following.

Well thought I would give you guys a little report on my popcan heater so far. It has froze in the garage this winter (-8C for a couple of nights) and around -2 to -4C. It is getting longer days sunlight which helps a great deal, when it is not cloudy. Electrical part of the system has worked flawless all winter. I should have installed an hour meter on the fan to see how many hours it has actually run. I can always do that next winter.

Do you have any temperature data from previous years to compare? Basically, can you tell that the pop can heater is noticeably raising the temperature?

This is my first winter using the popcan heater. The coldest days the temp would go up about 4-5C this would be on the shortest day of the year. It seems to work out to about a 1C temperature rise/hour of sunlight.
