Default Global Warming is back! The Ice Pack is melting!

Since 2009, we have always seen ice patches on the Sanyo pad.
This water comes from the coils during defrost cycles.
It freezes when it drops down to the concrete pad.

Mostly it's an ice patch about a foot wide and 1/4" thick.
It comes and goes, since the sun can shine directly on the pad.
Of course liquid rain washes the ice away sometimes. (The pad is angled to drain).

But, this year, the pad has been completely covered with 1/2" to 1" ice, continuously for about two months.
We have had a LOT Of defrost cycles this season!

Today, it's starting to melt away!!! Summer is just around the corner!!

I can't wait for winter to be over. A friend of mine mentioned that daylight saving's begins March 9 and I told him that was the best news I had heard all week. Every evening I'm thrilled that the daylight stays a little longer than the day before.

Come on Summer!

Your starting to thaw out Xringer , your averages are not so bad , it sure does get cold for such a low average.
Here the mountains have snow on them making for scenic views and quiet walks but in the valley where I am its green and warm.

Of all the beautiful cities I have visited in my life, Vancouver is right up there with Bergen Norge.
In the spring of 1980, I drove up there from Tacoma for a week.
I had a good time, good food and work was a pleasure.
Even got to visit good friends I knew from Bermuda.

I'll never forget flying out of Vancouver early in the morning
and seeing the tops of the mountains sicking up out of the clouds.
As we flew over one peak, I looked down saw a man come out of his home,
hop in his car, head down the road. He turned on his headlights as he disappeared into the clouds.

Back to horrible Boston, via Montreal.

I made many trips back to Tacoma in the early 90s, and always wanted
to drive up to Vancouver again. But never had the opportunity.

I'll say one thing about Vancouver...the city is beautiful, but if you drive outside the city down the #1 towards the east, it looks like a dump. I'm not talking all of BC here, I'm just saying outside of Vancouver for about...maybe 100KM.

But I love the city.

Vancouver is nice, surrounded by mountains/ski hills. I was there a two years ago for a Vancouver Canucks game (B.C 's hockey team)

I am on Vancouver island which is a 2hr cruise (sound familiar) from the Vancouver Ferry terminal, in about the center of the island in a Valley at the end of a 20 mile inlet, called Alberni which is know for its forest industry and its seafood and deep water port, the inlet although long is deep,20 miles long as deep as 700ft always 200 to 300ft when your prawning, crabbing or jigging for cod.
It is 2-3 degrees warmer then the other hotspots in Canada.
