Default Common leak on toilets

Put food coloring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the toilet bowl without flushing, you have a leak. Fix the flapper or ballcock.

Nice simple tip Mike. In the past I've always just tried to listen for leaks, but the food coloring would probably be much more apparent. It would probably be a good thing to do at least 1x a year just to double check things.

A water saving device that has worked well at my house on the toilets and has saved gallons of water.

I installed the device called a, ?We?ve got the handle on water savings?, this give a small flush for urine and a full flush for the heavier stuff. this can be bought for between $20.00 and $30.00 by shopping around. Not hard to install and saved lots of water.
