Default Looking for 24v inverter

Hello,
I've been contemplating a battery backup system for use in blackouts. I'm trying to decide between 12v and 24v battery system. For a 12v system, a xantrax PROwatt PSW inverter seems to be the clear winner. I have not found much in the 24v realm.

Anyone here have experience with 24v inverters?

There are a crap load of 24v inverters.
I have not made a 24v system but I find no shortage of 24v stuff.
Look over on Arizona wind-sun.

Look for an old UPS. Many of the mid size (500-1000W) units are 24V.

The only pretty common DC voltage you will find very few inverters and charge controllers for is 36V.
