Careful. If you add a return and there is no corresponding supply air, you'll create negative pressure in the basement which will pull air through every leak imaginable which can add humidity, radon, drafts, etc. to the space. If there are any natural draft appliances(most natural gas water heaters are a common example), you can backdraft that exhaust into the living space.

If there is no supply venting, don't add a return.

Found out the basement already has a return.

The door should be ready in a couple more weeks.

Default Door is in... last day of "summer"

Well, their new door went in Wednesday.... And summer is over!

Today looks like probably the last A/C day in the forecast of the next 2 weeks (and therefore also probably for this year), so I won't be able to gather any info on how well it works.

Someone bump this thread in 2015 and I'll get some temperature readings on either side of the partition when the hot weather returns and the A/C is blasting.
