In terms of China/Debt, they are at this point selling, not buying, U.S. debt. That said, only one out of fifteen dollars of debt is even held by the Chinese, and only about one out of five dollars of U.S. debt is held by a foreign government. Everything else is owned by private individuals and other parts of the government. |

Japan is a bit higher on that chart than China this month.
Those two have historically been the big international buyers. It looks like China is holding about 1.5 trillion on average, this past year. With Japan just under a trillion. If either one of them decides they no longer want to take our paper, then we are going to be in real trouble.. Have to resort to robbing the rich..? Today, I heard that if we took ALL of Bill Gate's holdings, it would pay the interest on the debt for two (2) whole days. If we took Oprah Winfrey's cash (and sold off her holdings for the cash), that would pay the interest for what?? 90 minutes of debt accumulation?? U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time We have to face facts, right now is not the time to be investing in schemes that won't help with our current problems..

And, I'm going to miss AM radio tomorrow too. Retirement shouldn't be like this! I wanted to hear his reaction to the debates last night.. Guess I'll have to watch Fox News news tonight. Get the biased pundits viewpoint..

Shrinking Sky! Cloud Tops Dropping Closer to Earth, NASA Satellite Finds | Atmospheric Science & Climate Change | Cloud Formation & Height | LiveScience
" The time frame is short, but if future observations show that clouds are truly getting lower, it could have an important effect on global climate change. Clouds that are lower in the atmosphere would allow Earth to cool more efficiently, potentially offsetting some of the warming caused by greenhouse gases. "We don't know exactly what causes the cloud heights to lower," study researcher Roger Davies of the University of Auckland in New Zealand said in a statement. "But it must be due to a change in the circulation patterns that give rise to cloud formation at high altitude." " I wonder if lower cloud heights lately, were caused by the lower sunspot counts? Since both these phenomena seems to trigger global cooling... I saw this comment online.. It’s important to destinguish between CR’s (which you mention above) and GCR’s (i.e. energy levels), and remember that Svensmarks hypothesis involves muon’s – which are the main source of ionization in the atmosphere at the low cloud heights that he’s interested in. Counts of cosmic-ray muons at low altitudes were historically low when record keeping stopped in the early 90′s. Svensmark also apparently gets a pretty good fit over the last 20 odd years when he plots Huancayo/Haleakala Neutron data (as a proxy for muon’s), against tropospheric air temperature (HadAT2), or ocean sub-surface water temperature (SODA). There are also plenty of proxies for solar variability which show that solar activity has remained high throughout the 20th century. Usoskin seems pretty clear about this in Fig 4. from this paper showing Be10 abundance: http://cc.oulu.fi/~usoskin/personal/2002ja009343.pdf The above is from a discussion regarding the CERN CLOUD results.. CERN experiment confirms cosmic ray action « Calder's Updates

The pink elephant in the room that no one is mentioning is that if "climate science" was an actual science, then climate models would have predicted this 20 years ago.
Knowing how individual geophysical processes work in isolation tells us nothing about the feedback systems in place between all the processes which comprise climate. |
