Another option for natural control: attract parasitic wasps. The adults eat nectar from small flowers, so plant thymes, lovage, savory and other herbs, sweet alyssum, dill, cilantro, parsley, yarrow, candytuft, verbena, or goldenrod. Not a short-term fix, but combined with the temporary solutions it should help control the problem in the long run.

I've got a few aphids on the potato plants (first time I'm trying them) and I was told to use diluted dish soap. I have not done it yet, but i should.

I use aphid midges. They work exceptionally well. One time they cleared out an entire huge elm tree's worth of aphids within a couple of days. Incredible.

I order them from a supplier in BC (vancouver island I think).
