Default Gree has a new Mini split series.

They heat down to -20 and have wifi so you can use your phone to control them
The 9,000 BTU is 30.5 SEER COP @47 deg is 4.2
Variable Speed (Inverter) Two-Stage Compressor

Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump Systems : Gree and Crown

I like ours but I would have bought these -20 heating and Wi-Fi are nice features.

This GREE unit has a rated output of 5500 at 17f. I'm curious what it will output at -20f. ..then again the thing about the rating is the manufacturers can choose the output for the rating and some units are able to produce more heat than the 'rated output'. This makes it particularly hard to choose a unit. NEEP does cold weather ratings to 5f and some units have optional data for colder tempertures. I think 5f is a significant low temperature as opposed to not the so cold 17f ratings because in Minnesota 20 degrees is frequently the daily high temperature, not an overnight low. It seems they don't have ratings for GREE though.

Cold Climate Air-Source Heat Pump Specification | NEEP

Fun enough to note NEEP shows the Fujitsu 9RLS3 can push out 15,000btuhr at 5f at max speed. ..figuring free air flow and excluding defrost. That's amazing to me that they've got it configured to ramp up that high and gives me more confidence in what inverter mini-split heat pumps can do. The AHRI ratings make them look more gimpy.

I did not think they look that bad.
But the max is 9180 BTU @ 17 deg it is a two stage compressor.
8k @ -22 deg

Thanks for the data sheet. 8k capacity from a 3/4 ton heat pump at 22f is great to see. This is a promising unit. Just a year or two ago they didn't make it nearly high on the AHRI ratings list for SEER and HSPF but this particular Chinese brand is really climbing the charts.

Default Gree Crown 12k indoor unit question

I'm looking at that Gree Crown 12,000 and I'm wondering about the indoor unit.
The install manual that I downloaded wasn't clear.. When I replace this Sanyo,
I'll want to install the lineset, pointing downwards, outside the wall..
The Sanyo has a cut-out in the plastic cover and a channel for the lineset.
See pic.. Does the Gree Crown allow for this type of lineset routing?

I have three of the Gree TERRA systems and I would bet it is similar because the crown is just one step above mine.
It does not have a cutout on the bottom but it does have knock out on both the left and the right side.
Here is a picture of it.

On page 7 Gree Crown Installation Manual
http://www.greecomfort.com/our-products/crown/
You can see it is the same as mine. Just a nice lower profile.

The Sanyo also has those end punch-outs, but on the bottom of the cover, they have a neat little out-line in the molding.
Hard to notice, unless you are looking for it. I had to cut the little square out with a little saw..
Anyways, maybe the Gree models have that same molding line?

This picture is from the living room IDU, the hole-in-the-wall install.

There is no knockout out line on the outside of the bottom on my Gree units. My LG units have the knockouts on the sides and on the bottom.

If I cut a DIY lineset hole in the bottom, is there anything on the inside of the bottom cover to prevent it?
Some blockage?
