Thanks I hope so also it was a great car. I told the guy that bought it I hopped he would have as good luck with it as we did.
He came to pick it up driving his 2012 volt. Now he has two volts.

I am excited to see how Gen 2 performs.

I picked up my new 2018 Volt yesterday.
I was going to get it one hour away but they could not get any dealers to complete the transfer.

So I canceled my deal with them. I found the exact car I wanted in Charlotte NC about two hours away one way.
We came to a price agreement over the phone he email me those numbers and I put a deposit down on it.

I drove it over 168 miles yesterday.

I really like the paddle on the steering wheel.
This kicks in the regen very aggressively. This close to one pedal driving.
Using it puts energy back into the battery.

The Gen2 volt is definitely quieter.
It uses two electric motors and it is faster off the line and to 60.

We got the Bose audio system I like it.

It has LED headlights just the dim ones. These are outstanding. My Gen1 Volt I replaced the head light bulbs the first week I had the car. They were sub-par.

Mylink radio uses android auto and it puts Waze on my 8” car touch screen. This is really good and much better than any navigation car system I have ever used without adding cost to your car.

Interior light are led tail light led accent lights led all welcome.

The dash is so much better all the climate controls are close at hand.
You don’t have to go into the touch screen for climate controls. This is a welcome change.

I had a full charge at the dealer (I requested this). Then I charged a partial charge before I had to go pick up my son. I had 93 EV miles yesterday. Very sweet….

All these comments would apply to 216-2018 Chevy volts these are all Gen2.

My old volt had a 16.5 Kw battery rated 38 EV miles
Gen 2 Volt has 18.4 Kw battery rated 53 EV miles 1.9 Kw bigger battery.

My build date was 10/17 so it did not sit on the lot very long.

I will add more as I have it longer.

Looks great ! Congratulations . :-)

What kind of mileage did you get on gas , from the dealer to your house ?

Is the Gen 2 Volt any more roomy inside , than Gen 1 ?

You can send me a Gen 2 Volt for Christmas . :-) Just PM me & I will send you the details . :-)

Have fun !
Your friend from the South West .

Thanks.
When we bought the 13 we compromised on the color and the Bose system.
This time we were able to find exactly the color and with the options we wanted. We had to drive two hours one way for it but well worth it for what we wanted.

I got 39 mpg on the gas but I was not letting grass grow under my feet. 75-80 MPH
There is not much room difference. I think it is 1 inch wider the back of the front seats are dished in maybe an inch.
So really a tiny difference that you won’t notice.

It is rated combined 43 but most get about 45 MPG
Our interstate driving is 65 MPH so that will help our MPG. So that should put us 40-45
I hope to have more days that we don't use gas at all.

My wife did her normal school trip today and we got 42 EV miles with 16 EV miles left.

Here is a chart from the Volt Forum

One option we like but think it is too expensive is the
Illuminated charge port $275

It lights so you can connect the charger in the dark. it also flashes to tell you how much charge your car has.
(Yes it is just a nicety) but it will be convent.

I have a GM credit card they have a deal spend over $100 on a GM part you get $100 credit.
I can get the Illuminated charge port for $95 with this deal.
There are DIY install instructions out there so I will install it myself.

Nice looking wheels. The new Volt looks a lot nicer IMO. They also improve specs nearly all the way around. Glad you're liking it so far!
