New technological advancements in solar energy
Here is a major discovery in solar power generation! Yes, scientists from Monash University along with associates from the universities of Wollongong & Ulm have developed ‘tandem dye-sensitized solar cells’ which can help in increasing the solar energy conversion by threefold. This conversion efficiency is very high when compared to the earlier reported ‘tandem dye-sensitized solar cells’.
This discovery will increase in the capability of energy generation of solar cells and will make them as a better option in place of the traditional silicon solar cells. The details of this solar energy news can be seen in the recent issue of ‘Nature Materials’. This breakthrough in solar energy extraction will surely make more and more people leave traditional energy resources and start using solar energy. Solar energy is one of the most important non conventional energy resources and is non-polluting, unlike the fossil fuel resources. It also helps in decreasing the greenhouse effect. Our electricity requirements can be fulfilled by the wise use of solar energy. Solar radiation can be converted to electricity with the help of solar cells. The electricity generated can be either used or can be stored with the help of a battery. Thus by making use of the technological advancements, we can use the solar energy wisely and reduce our dependence on the fossil fuels. This will save a lot of money and also will make our environment clean. |

Hello, JohnSpark, and welcome to EcoRenovator!
I'm afraid the link you gave points to a different site. Could you give more details about how the new techology increases the output of solar cells? |

Here's a site Monash Newsline (Monash University)
But, I've seen this kind of news release before many times. It seems like you hear about a brand new PV discovery at least twice a year. And, this has been going on for many ,many years. Maybe someday, we will get something new and better.. |
