TED $20 Ebay
New Ted The Energy Detective 1001 Power Monitor with Accessories | eBay
This is the old model, like I have.. (Which isn't interfering with my X10 controls for some reason).

Is there a way you cam measure electrical usage for a mini split of a water heater that is 220. Like you could do with a Kill a Watt.

The 1001 is old tech and it's discontinued. Not sure about support for it..
The 5000 is the new network linked stuff.. Not sure what all the features are, I'm not shopping for one (yet). Residential TED Products

at $20 or less, I will buy a couple for different loads. One for the Fujitsu in my shop for sure and the other for my whole house.

Yeah, just hook the sensor clamps on the two hotlines and you only measure the load on that 230 line. I use this cheap model to measure the power used by my Sanyos.

Now, I'm reading both Sanyos at once. Hard to tell if one is using more power. Have to run one, then the other. I'm not sure if these Ebay units come with an activated USB port.. I don't see the Footprints CD with the parts. I don't use the USB & Footprints on mine, (paid extra for). Mostly used for real-time monitoring to watch power use. But without any software, you can still use the display buttons to step back and look at the power use for the past 12 months.. That's a nice feature.

Maybe I bought them too fast cause I didn't look for the footprints. I just assumed they all came with it.
