I was just looking at my power usage on the TED when the power is OFF for my Sanyo's crankcase oil heater.. Made me wonder what the Gree units use during off time.?.

Default Looks possible..

Regardless of the lack of information.. I just saw a YouTube video with an install going on..
I saw the only back-end view of a Gree indoor unit on the web..

It looks just like Sanyo indoor units.. I think I can just saw a cut out in the bottom of the case, just like I did for the Sanyo..

Have to order a 12,000 btu Crown for the den during the next sale..
I signed up for the comfortup.com 'list'..

Tractor Supply doesn't seem to carry the Crown line..

Sale at:
Single Zone Ductless Mini Split Systems : Gree and Crown

A maximum of 18,000 BTU.. Is that enough?

I've been heating and cooling my house for months with a single 24,000 BTUh Sanyo.. (living room).
It can be 85-90 outdoors, and that 24K does a pretty good job..
Doesn't run at high power for long periods.. Maybe 1/2 hour in the 1kw range,
then it backs down to 700w for a while then settles in between 400-500 watts.
Then of course it goes idle-and-on, depending on the weather etc..

So, I'm thinking maybe two 18k Crown systems might work for us..
If two 18k systems aren't enough this winter, I can add another one next summer...

Comments please..

I think that would work good.
I wonder if you could go with one 12K and one 18K
Use them both when needed.

Here is a $75 coupon code for comfortup Gree

I would call these guys they have really good prices.

I've asked PartsDirect4U about the shipping.. And if they take paypal..

I'm sure a 12k & 18k would be fine in the summer..
But in the winter all the glass in the den makes it hard to heat.
64 square feet of windows and a standard sliding glass door.
In the summer, solar screens are over the two 4'x4' west side windows.

It's my fear (maybe groundless), that our winters are going to be colder,
in the coming winters. I would like to be prepared, if possible..

Since these are inverter units that gives you some flexibilities.
I tested that coupon code and it works for now anyway I have no idea when it expires.

I saw a 1-star review on HD, because the buyer got old stock..
Is this a problem with Gree systems? Does a couple of years sitting in a warehouse even matter?

The model you are looking at the crown series is not even one year old so I would not be too concerned about it.

I had a feeling the RIO was an older model than the Crown..
But, I have no idea when the Crown was first introduced in the USA.. (or Canada)..
