I'm mostly looking at iso because it had a slightly higher r value than the xps. The xps I've seen is tongue and groove but the iso isn't. Regardless I'll tape my joints.

XPS is actually blown with HFCs that don't harm the ozone, but the issue is their global warming impact is about 1000x that of CO2. I looked at using XPS for my basement floor and the global warming impact of the blowing agent alone was similar to driving a car for a year. I instituted a personal ban on using XPS unless it's used/reclaimed.
