Default Clean your A/C Evaporator coils!

One of those things you might forget; I sure did.

Lost cooling last night, found a block of ice, realized it was time to clean.

WAS IT EVER NASTY.

Vacumed, rinsed, aluminum cleaner, wash.

I probably haven't cleaned them in 3 years.

Outlet air is noticeably colder, I'm rather sure that energy will be saved!

Well; although the coils are clean, they still froze back up.

I'm thinking that I am low on Freon . . . . .

Anybody with more expertise have other Ideas?

My parents use a dehumidifier in the basement. I cleaned the coils off it last year. Yes the coils were very nasty.

Good point igo. I actually have to do that with mine, along with cleaning the coils on the chest freezer in the basement, and the refrigerator.

Actually got some R-22 about a week and a half ago, Ice Cold now; man is it nice to not have blowers moving air from one side of the house to the other.

Actually found the leak; someone (Me) left the high side cap off about 2 years ago.
