Default Wind Turbines Could Theoretically Power the Entire World, and Then Some

This is pretty cool. A study done by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows that "maxing out deployment of current-generation technology could produce five times the total energy used in the world today, and 40 times the electricity". That is a LOT of power, wow. And, they didn't put these windmills every place you could think of. They limited it to places they could realistically be built.

While browsing through magazines yesterday I can across an article that someone said that global warming will reduce windspeeds, effecting wind generation. Can't who said it or where I read it.

And at the very top of that article...

Some of the comments on that topic do raise fair points, also, with regards to wind generation and stability.

I've always read that we will have more storms, so the calms seem unlikely to increase.

Default Vintage DIY...

I came across this interesting site today.

Loads of free vintage plans.

Lots of these projects were from an era when people didn't have as much as we do today, before 'Do It Yourself' became an acronym.

A lot of inventiveness in these plans.

Global warming will increase wind intensity, not decrease it. Wind is caused by uneven heating of the Earth's surfaces... Global Warming intensifies this situation.
