Rather than absolute temps, most information I have seen determines whether a particular A/C system is functioning properly based upon the difference between intake and chilled air output temps.

If your chilled air output is 49°, what is your intake air temp? and what refrigerant does your system use?

If you're intake is 57° and your output is 49°, that's not nearly as effective as a system with an intake at 77° and an output at 49°.

At startup on high speed, a 30 degree drop through the evaporator is normal. As the room temperature drops, so will the supply air temperature. If you want colder air to come out, the indoor fan speed can be lowered. Assuming you don't have an inverter unit, the supply air temperature will drop with the fan speed.
