howdy
working on a complete make-over on my electricity consumption.... hit almost 2500 KWH a few months ago
needless to say... I went on a "crash diet" this last month and got my energy bill down (temporarily) to $53 LOL! Goals: new appliances (have my eyes on a new stove or fridge this Black Friday) 80Plus power supplies in my PCs and Servers (7 machines, some run 24-7) LCD monitors LCD TVs replace some CFLs with LEDs Already completed: All lights are CFL new furnace |

Welcome to the site Southcross.
It sure sounds like your diet is working. Those are some pretty drastic steps! Good luck with getting that consumption down.

well... unfortunately, its just a crash diet and soon I have to go back to eating KWH for breakfast/lunch/dinner.... I operate a small web/FTP/SQL server farm in my 2nd bedroom LOL
so far I've replaced two of my servers with smaller (lower power consuming) machines... unfortunately, I haven't found a replacement for the big machine (it has 3 power supplies: 1 main and 2 redundant for HD storage array pulls like 600w when idle) |
