Turn down lcd monitor/tv backlight for 50% energy savings
Another energy savings technique i adopted.
My tv, is a 40" 5 year old LCD bought just before LED back lighted models were common. In the tv's menu, then the sub menu, under 'back lighting', I changed the Back lighting level from level 5 to 0 (out of 10) and adjusted contrast and brightness to compensate for the change. 97% contrast with 30% brightness worked for my Monitor. Savings results: 102 watt usage before 50 watts after adjustments Last edited by ecomodded; 11-14-12 at 12:16 AM.. Reason: Reduced and reduced once more |
