Just my typical 2,000 mile (each way) vacation trip from South Florida to a small town in Maine. The $3k includes rental car for a month, something I don't need if I drive. The vehicle was a 2006 VW Jetta. It didn't give me the option of using the diesel model.

The airlines suck, TSA sucks more and renting a car is expensive.
Drive it. Amount of "CO2 Impact": Don't care. |
