Default Please tell me of your mini-split experiences...

I am building a super insulated dome house and was considering a mini-split system for cooling. The house is small and very well insulated (R-36+) with all the exterior walls having 7" of solid EPS (styrofoam) in them. I have tested the house with a 12K btu window A/C and even at 90+ degrees outside it will cool adequately. I think 2 zones would do just fine, the whole house is about 1200 s.f., upstairs only 300 or so.

My problem is while the mini-split SEEMS to be the way to go, I don't have any experience with one, nor do I know anyone who's used one. In Central FL the A/C is running 6-8 months of the year, so it WILL get a workout. Anyone have any practical data? How are they holding up, what brands are good, is it really easy to install?
