Is this something one might use for a zone distribution, like for hydronic heating?

No, it's for switching the flow direction of refrigerant in a heat pump system.
From heating to cooling (or defrosting).

Wow, it's still for sale.. Should have been snapped up by now.

It's interesting how they steer gas pressure(in the small tubes) from the compressor,
to drive the large valve body into the proper position to direct the main gas flow in the desired direction..
