If I could get the heated hose and pumps nailed down, the rest should be easy.
It does look messy and expensive.

I just have one of the hand help single part foam guns and every part inside is apparently Teflon coated, I bought one of the cheap guns that was just brass and stainless steel and it lasted 6 hours.
So why would the pumps be so expensive? you are trying to pump and meter out marital that is more or less a glue so it can be heated and pumped for 100 feet then mixed and sprayed while mixing.
Maybe these setups could be built cheaper then they are, but as they are if it was my job to spray that stuff I would want equipment that is reliable because the rest of the task is annoy, dirty, cramped and just plane sucks!

I like the Foam-it Green spray foam insulation kits. They're a bit messy but easy to use overall.

I'm doing my basement over the next few weeks; I'm not quite this high-tech, just using the 40lb boxed kits.

This did give me a good idea though...I've got a length of electric pipe heater cord, I'll attach that along the hoses just before the gun to help warm the two compounds. Thanks guys!

As far as those commercial dispensers go, there's nothing terribly purpose-specific there - metering valves, pressure gauges, a pair of pumps, and hopefully a heating system in there somewhere. No chance they make their own pumps; those are off the shelf units. A clever diyer could definitely construct one of these without a lot of trouble, I recon.

I bought the part A and B foam containers on Ebay. No equipment necessary. It pours like water and starts foaming in about 45 seconds. Forms are removable in 15 minutes. Just be absolutely sure your forms are water tight or you will get leaks. I added golf ball sized pieces of Styrofoam in the forms to get the pour foam to go further. Worked great. It comes in 2,4,6 lbs per cuft that's usable for insulation.
