thermal controller
Anyone know of a low cost thermal controller, in the summer I run my panels through a heat exchanger and into the pool, just looking for a low cost or if any one has a used controller. I want to turn pool pump on with it so would like a 20 amp if possible, pump motor is only 15amp but would like a little heavier.
Thanks Gary

If you wanted to boost the wattage of a standard controller, you could do it easily with a 25A SSR.
Just plug in a wall-wart to the controller's 120vac output and use the DC to switch on the 25A SSR. Which will control the 20A ac line into your motor.. 25A SSRs are only a few bucks on Ebay.. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/P1000835.jpg My old controller only ran 10A max.. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/NCL/F015.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/NCL/F017.jpg But it would be cheap and easy to boost it's power capabilities. Be aware, that 20A x 125vac is about 2.5kw and most household sockets won't handle that kind of power. (15A breakers or fuses).
