New water meter at my house, has anyone seen a way to do data collection on these?
My water meter was just replaced by the city due to a leak in the plumbing by the old one. The new one is a sensus srII with a TouchRead Pit Lid reading system
http://www.sensus.com/Module/Catalog/File?id=36 http://www.sensus.com/Module/Catalog/File?id=162 So unlike the old meter I know that the city can digitally get a reading from the meter by touching the reader in the lid with some device. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a "easy" way to get a reading off this using an arduino and some other basic electronics? Even if I can't read the outside meter without messing with the city I see these exact meters are $10-$15 on ebay so I could easily add one on my main waterline for the whole house.
