We got our natural gas bill today it was $35.93 we have gas hot water and that use about $19 in the summer when we are not using heat.
The heat cost was $16.93 last year’s bill was $93.77 saving $57.84 but this month was much colder than last year. it was closer to Dec last year than Nov and that bill was $138.73.

But either way it way a good saving using the MS to heat with our power bill was $8.29 the meter charge. But we used $23 of carry over power.

Our total utilities cost was $44.22 for natural gas and power.

Last year’s natural gas bill was $93.77
Last year’s Electric was $105.36
Last year’s car gas bill was $251.28 all solar powered Chevy Volt this year.
Last year Total utilities with car gas was $438.82

This year's total utilities/Car gas with solar power, Mini Splits and EV car was $44.22

Saving $394.60 that is compared to last year. It was really more since it was so cold this year but this is close.

Nice savings pinball. I don't use my oil boiler at all anymore. The mini splits are awesome.

Fantastic !

I would like to hear more about the Volt . But I am not sure this is the proper forum for that subject ?

My 13 SEER MS HP , I try to turn it off , when it gets around 25 - 30 degrees & it starts running too much with out cycling . I figure it is approaching the break even point compared to the cost of natural gas ?

God bless

The Gree will provide heat down to -4 and the LG units down to 5 deg. It got down to 8 deg last night.
The LG units we just shut off for the power they were using and the amount of heat they were producing it was not worth it. The Gree was still performing well we let it run all night.

It is back up to 31 deg today so both Gree and the LG are heating up the house again.

-5 is great!! And they don't cost too much on Ebay..
Gree Mini Split Air Conditioner Heat Pump 24K BTU | eBay

They look fun to install... Maybe I'm going to Go Gree when these Sanyos die..
Or when Global warming gets worse..

We are finally into the cooling season. The Mini Splits are running more like I thought they would.

They run all the time now and just adjust the compressor to how much cooling they need.
We have a couple zones now so I can keep my office a different temp than where my wife works this is just great I like it cooler than her no surprise here but now no I am cool I and no back and forth with the temp.

It was 95 yesterday and they did great I used my new blower motor to spread the cool air throughout the house and this worked well. We did not need the main back 4 ton unit at all.
I was pleased with this and the comfort level was better than it ever was with the 4 ton unit the temp stays much more comfortable. Not some much cold then hot then cold.

I will be adding to TED CT’s on the mini splits so I can see the actual power usage form these units. But looking at my main TED right now it looks good.

I think this will really help me zero out this summer but time will tell.

We have been running the mini split , on cool , off and own for a couple of weeks . So far so good .

According to one internet weather report , yesterday's high was 105 ? You could tell the mini split was having to work a little harfer to cool the living room and dining room .

We have window units in most of the other rooms . The central unit will probably not get turned on much .

God bless

It really did not seem to be having an issue at all. My wife thought it was to cool and turned it up.
It will be hotter here as we get further into summer I will update at what point I need to kick in the big AC in to supplement the cooling. But yesterday it was not even a thought to do that.

Default Dang! That's hot!

A high of 105?? Wow! I'm sitting here wearing my winter gear!!

It almost got up to 65 today.. Before it started dropping right after lunch..

We had one of the Sanyo units running last night..
Only used 2 KW hours, but it was 68F when I got up..
