Hey Tim,

I tried leaving a comment on your blog, but got an error, so I'll just leave it here instead.

On the topic of take-out containers....

A while back, my wife and I started bringing our own take-out containers with when we go to a restaurant. It's just plain old Tupperware, one of the food storage containers we use at home all the time.

The local restaurant that we like to go to is very easy-going and home-style. When you ask for a take out box, they just bring you one, and you put your own food in it. The first time we brought our own container, we got an odd look from the waitress. The second time we did, she said "hey, that looks like a good idea".

After we had done that several times, we forgot to bring it with once. When we asked for a styrofoam take-out container, the waitress almost yelled at us - "What!? You guys didn't bring your own!!?!?" We actually asked for TWO containers, and she only brought us one, saying, "You can fit all that in there!"

So, bring your own container. Think of it like the plastic grocery bags. Wouldn't your rather bring your own canvas tote bag to the grocery store? So, bring your own takeout container.

Maybe we can start getting everyone to do it!

-Ben

I like that idea Ben. Although I rarely leave leftover when we go out.

I solved that one, at least for myself (the family has yet to follow). I blow my nose into toilet paper. Recycled toilet paper (I always want to say: post-consumer toilet paper). Then the snotted piece of paper lands in my compost.
