Default Convert a Vintage Thermostat into a Modern Energy Saver

This is pretty cool if you like to tinker. You could easily expand an old thermostat's capabilities with a bit of code and some modern electronics. You could make it wifi, etc.

Maybe I'm getting too serious here, but there are so many fully automatic, solid state thermostats flooding through Goodwill & other thrift and junk stores. At the same time, there are so many real eco projects that need doing, that I question this project.

I think we need to choose out battles carefully.

^^ Oh, c'mon AC - where's your spirit of adventure? Just because you can get a new-ish fuel efficient car relatively cheap doesn't mean you shouldn't ecomod an older beater, if not for other reasons then for sport
