Not a problem.
But sometimes, for people who are living on a really tight budget (like me), the difference of a few hundred dollars can mean the difference between being able to do a project and not being able to do a project. I looked at Kerdi, too. It looked pretty well thought out. But when I started adding up all the elements of the system, I had to go with the older system. On an unrelated note, I have a cousin that lives near L.A. and he has a really nice, old built-in shower, that was built before the flexible plastic shower pan membranes were available... His shower used lead sheeting, and after many decades, it starting to leak because the chemicals in the water, and soaps, and all the many bath products have gradually eaten through the lead sheeting. Bummer... -AC_Hacker
