The sad thing is yo change out the service valve , you will have to un-sweat the old one & silver solder / braze the new one back into place . With out cooking the new one . I do not know if you can remove the valve assembly like you can on some water valve . If not , I guess you need to wrap it in cold wet rags .
The factory should be responsible for this , not the purchaser . God bless Wyr |

Before hooking up the lineset to the IDU, I had to remove the nitrogen from the IDU HX.
I pressed on the little plastic button and it took about a minute for all the gas to escape. Right then, I said to myself, 'Wow, these guys do it right'.. Never saw that on a Sanyo. I got the call from Gree support. He's going to do some checking and get back to me. Hope it's with good news!

Standard operating procedure to pre-charge Fan Coils with dry nitrogen to prevent infiltration of moisture . Also lets you know it does not have a leak .
But , I am sure you already knew that . I seem to remember plumbers / pipe fitters using pre-charged sticks of copper pipe , when running med-gas . Keeps out dust & other contamination , too . God bless Wyr |

I'm getting a new ODU from Ductless HVAC Systems & Indoor Air Quality on ComfortUp
It should be here (from NC) in a few days. Will post again after it shows up. Here's a video showing the problem.. https://youtu.be/SBoP6Y1IM1k I'll be sending this one back. I will use the new unit's packaging, and a trucking co. will pick it up.

Good deal. Any company can sell you something but it what they do when there is an issue that is important.
How did they decide to do this? Did the Gree rep call comfortup or did you work with comfortup?

Yeah, it shipped yesterday and the tracking was good last night.
It's on it's way to the Boston depot. They will call me tomorrow. Maybe I'll get it tomorrow, or Monday.. 187 pounds! I guess it's on a pretty heavy pallet.. Speaking of pallets, I saved the last one and used it to make a ramp! Worked pretty good! When I inspected the 1/4" flair, it didn't look that good.. So, I put it back on and turned it down some more. Like before, it felt squishy.. Inspected again and it looked better.. Turned it down again, and it felt a little less squishy and it looked a lot better. So, I'm going to leave it as is for now.. When I install the new unit, I'll crank it down (again, using the lube) and see if it ends up looking like a good flair.. It if does I'll do the spec torque (12 lbs?), repeat the "forming" process on the other end. (on the ladder).. Then push in some nitrogen at 200 PSI, again!

I got voice mail when I called ComfortUp, so I hung up and used email. The on-line email system acknowledged, about half hour later I got a call. Told them about the problem and what Gree support told me, (they would supply a new valve). I explained that installing that valve would add a LOT of cost. So, ComfortUp said they would ship out a new ODU, while on the phone (w/ Carolyn). After hanging up, I got a call-back from Gree support USA.. They wanted to send me a new unit too! (I think, because I told them that I would be requesting a replacement ODU from ComfortUp).. I told them that ComfortUp was taking care of me.. "Oh, that's good".. I'll continue updates on this install whenever I get back to it.. Likely next week..
