I got the repairs and tie-downs done on my tracker mount.
Maybe tomorrow I'll get the main PV re-installed. Just need someone to help me lift the rack up.. Anyways, my 2 new panels didn't come today.. I asked them (for the second time) for a tracking number, And was a little shocked to find out the warehouse guys, got the order but didn't ship it. They apologized and were going to ship today, but I asked to have my panels shipped in individual boxes.. I guess it's a bit of a packing project for them, but maybe they will go out tomorrow. And, I should get a tracking #. I'm glad they didn't come in the 98 pound box! That's a tad heavy for old folks. |

Wow! Lucky for me, that I ordered when I did.. Shipping cost has gone up..
I paid about $20 per panel and now it's $102.89 !! Got 2 tracking numbers today. UPS might post the ETA later this PM. I think it might be a little too windy to be working on my tracking array.. |

Still have not worked on my tracking array.. But I got some good news.
My panels are at the local UPS depot. Might be here tomorrow! Edit: Well, it's Friday and the UPS guys took the day off. No panels. Did not see one truck all day. Maybe they took their wife's to Black Friday.?. But, I did get some time to work on my old tracker. Got it back together.. Last edited by Xringer; 11-26-10 at 06:39 PM.. Reason: Slow UPS truck |

I was just looking at the shipping cost to Mass.
If I buy 8 or 6 panels, the shipping drops to 50 to 46 bucks each. So, even at $350 each shipped, that's $1.75 a watt. Not too shabby. I've got an old deck platform that I can use to mount my 2 new panels.. My guess, if they come tomorrow (or Tuesday), they will arrive about 5PM when it's already dark.. |

Is this a good battery. Also advance auto has a deal spend $100 get a coupon for $50 off $100 (future use) emailed in a few weeks + the $50 coupon Thanks to you Xringer and Helloman on Youtube I go me some cheap watts per $ that can't be beat anywhere so good I really don't want to tell anyone in case I need more in the future |

Congrads on the 10 panels! We are making a dent in their stock of leftover PV.
I have to agree, these units (cs6p-200) have the best price per-watt on the web. No one else is selling this panel (in small lots) for under $500 each. I think they are a steal for $300 each.. The UPS jerks dinged up one of my new panels, but it's just cosmetic. ~~~ I checked out the Q&A at Advance Auto.. It sounds like a pretty good battery. Q: Who manufactures this battery and is it a "true" deep cycle battery (not dual purpose)? How many amp hours does it have at 20 amp (a standard marine measure)? Asked on 11/4/2010 by steve from Callao, VA A: These are manufactured by East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc. This is a deep cycle. I called East Penn just to confirm the amp hours and they told me this was a 90 amp hours battery. Answered on 11/4/2010 by Mike the Auto Parts Master from AAP I think it's the DC27 on this list.. http://www.dekabatteries.com/assets/base/0194.pdf Last edited by Xringer; 03-14-11 at 05:13 PM.. |
