Nine days later this is what a $25 washer looks like.

But I finally have the parts to put the head back together.
This was not UPS fault it was Quincy not giving the part to UPS. Then charging $22 for shipping a washer.

I could have easily cut this out but I was not entirely sure what type of steel they used for it.

Finally had some time to work on my compressor. The head is torqued down, and the valves are in.
The valve towers still need installed. Some progress.

At this stage it may not get paint for a while. I just need to finish it and get it in service. I will need to add the continuous run feature once I have it back up and running.
I need to order a auto drain for it.

It is the small gains in a project that keep you going. This compressor is really in my way.
All the valves are in Just need to bolt on unloader tower and plum them up.

Here it is painted. I went with the new Quincy blue
Unloader towers ready to be plumbed they are all torqued down.

Yes the before and after.

I am out of blue paint. Next thing you know I be painting the tank.
The tank looks really bad now that the pump is painted.

It is a different color.
It is the same color and paint brand as the pump.
But it looks lighter at this point maybe when it dries it will darken a little.

Auto tank drain on order. This is a must have if you want to keep the tank lasting very long.

I lot of the compressor noise comes from the air intake. My other compressor has a big box that muffles the noise. If you take an old tractor oil bath air cleaner in Mount, it to your compressor it can quiet it down a lot.
Someone on a different forum suggested doing this so I have an old Belarus tractor has a blown motor (I bought for its front end loader) and I am going to use that oil bath air cleaner to make my compressor not as loud.

Here is a picture of theirs

And mine getting painted black.

If you have a continuous run feature you will not be able to run oil in it.
But if you do not have that feature you can run oil in it.

I will be adding the continuous run feature so I will add some fiberglass to bottom instead of oil.
