Christ- Nudist have camps and resorts and beaches but no colonies and they really don't like that term. But you are right, Nudist are about the safest most friendly and respectful people you could ever meet. But personal privacy is a big part of the respect that Nudists charish. I fear this topic has ventured well away from conservation. If anyone wants to discuss the other benifits of nudism I can recommend some good sources of info, like The Naturist Society , or please open a new topic in the Billiards room. My purpose for this thread was to address the material and water savings and any other ideas members of EcoRenovator might have. |

Nakid? No way! Too cold!
LOL!! Here I sit wearing a cotton tee-shirt, with long sleeve heavy fleece shirt over it,
light cotton gym pants, with second pair of heavy fleece pants over them.. Because the weather is getting warmer (it's 50F in my basement now), I'm only wearing one pair of socks. Most of this winter, I've developed the habit of wearing thin cotton socks, under a thick pair of wool socks! Most nights this winter, I've worn socks to bed.. And I have a thin fleece night cap (made from a ski cap) that loosely covers my old bald head whilst I sleep.. I guess this is what happens when you are an old South Texan, living in New England.. Anyways, one evening last week, it was cold and very damp outdoors. It was 21C inside, but I could feel the dampness, even indoors.. (Arthritis pain)! So, as an experiment, I turned the heat up to 22C ! (71.6F). I loved it!! My wife, hated it! Within an hour she wanted it back down to 21.. I guess this means we aren't moving to Texas during this lifetime.. yeppers, too frekin cold for me.. Besides, old folks without clothes are not very easy on the eyes.. Actually, even with clothes..

Nudism or naturalism is indeed a good practice. Are there are bad effects or disadvantages of nudism? I really find this subject interesting and I just want to clarify this things up before applying it on myself.

One side effect could be skin cancer. I still have the burn scars on my back
from spending too many hours in the sun. Since I grew up in Texas, I didn't worry about the sun during the two years I spent in Bermuda (April 1963-April 1965). The weather there seemed mild. But the sun was just as hard on your skin. (This was before sunblock).
