I'm trying to do the same thing. I'm taking my 3 blade mower off of the gas tractor, attach motors to run each blade and then figure out a way to attach it to the front of a golf cart to cut my grass.
Can you give me the specs of the motors you are finding in the single mower decks. I use that as a base for what I need. |

They are 24 volt, come in 14" or 20" blades sizes, the 14" spins backwards CCW, to a regular mower. The 20" models spin CW, same as a gas mower or most riders. I tested them and they seem to draw about 20amps with the blade not cutting any grass. I think the small Batteries lack of amp/hrs protect the motor for over heating, max run time of 45min. cutting light, thin grass. The battery that comes with them are 17 or 20 amp/hr sealed 12volt x2 for 24volt pack. You can find cordless mowers in 12, 24, 36, and 48 volt models. I tried to match up the motors on mine by using motors that come off of the same model. Still haven't finished the project hopefully by next spring when the grass starts to grow again. I think next spring when people bring out there cordless mowers from storage and find dead battery packs there will be a good supply of used cordless mowers around. |
