Condensing dryers
Hi,
We have had our condensing dryer for almost a year now. It is a LG model. It works great. It uses a lot less energy than a standard dryer. It blows lots of warm air out the bottom, keeps the house warm . It has a tank to collect the water it extracts. We empty the tank once a week (before we start doing laundry). It also has a hose that can be used to bypass the tank, it would drain itself like a washing machine. The only other maintenance is the heat exchanger needs to be rinsed out about once a month (for efficiency reasons). It has been a good investment. I plugged the hole in the wall where the old vent was. The heat now stays in the house. It uses less than half the electricity our old machine used. Just to throw in my $.02. I would be leery of using a dehumidifier to dry the clothes. A 12x12 room has a lot of volume, it would require a sizable dehumidifier, does the room have a vapor barrier? I think it would take a long time to dry clothes in this way. Do some research on the condensing dryers, I think you will find that they will meet your needs, and then some. |

We can fit about three loads of clothes on the portable drying rack and they are dry by the next morning. The clothes are nice and crisp, just like when we dry them outside. The water basket fills up at least twice on those three loads which is about 4 gallons.
