I hope that charging station has grid back-up, in case of a rainy day.. (And that looks like a rainy day)..

I'm sure that those panels are grid connected. And yes, driving *any* EV is a revelation, I think.

and I'll wonder if it's in EV mode or not.. It's hard to tell by ear. But a quick glance at the display shows the EV indicator in On.. Then, I know we are on battery and the ICE is taking a little break.. Here's a trip where we were EVing 62% of the time.. Going to get some seafood at Revere beach today, gonna try for at least 50% EV mode!

The 'C' is the poor man's EV :)
Nope, the Prius C isn't quiet. When you slow way down, the Pedestrian Warning speaker
comes on and starts emitting that Star Trek Shuttlecraft racket.. Star Trek Sound Effects - Shuttlecraft Interior - YouTube When driving around town, if I have the radio turned up, I can hardly hear the ICE turning off and on. Half the time I don't notice it. Of course my hearing isn't that great. It's EV/ICE transitions are way smoother than I expected. However, if the windows are down, I can hear that Shuttlecraft noise on quite streets. It was bad traffic all the way to Revere beach and back. The VFW Parkway was like Drag Racing between red lights. I was being tail-gated the second I slowed down at all. But, the over-all MPGs aren't that bad, considering that I was driving like a Crazed Bostonian.. I was surprised to see we were in EV 47% of the time.

Saw a 2 wheel EV up close!
I've seen a few zoom by me in traffic, but never saw one up close..
Check out the LED light strips the owner installed.. Plus it's a belt drive.. No chain noise.. And the belt is tiny for such a hot rod bike.. Anyways, we had just rode past the Lexington Charging station when we stopped to check out the Farmers Market thing by the police station, when this super nice EV bike pulls up.. I would love to own one of these babies!!

Yeah, that does look like a lot of fun! I've ridden BenNelson's DIY electric motorcycle a little bit, and it was very fun. Off the line torque is great.

The owner told me the range he was getting, @ good speed and I was really impressed.
(Can't remember the exact numbers, but a 100 mile range rings a bell). The bike isn't large, and doesn't look as heavy as a 125cc dirt bike.. I love motor bikes, but they aren't very safe around here (suburban MA). It's even risky to ride bicycles on residential streets in my neighborhood. We have to stay on the sidewalks in some areas.
