I pulled the trans out to take a look at it on the off chance that they used a standard gear I could get off the shelf. After looking at it, I highly doubt it.
It is an interesting design though. The bent metal plate moves back and forth and when the clutch is engaged it pinches the brass gear between the bearings. There is no friction material to wear out. A little brass in the oil?
