Converted my average daily consumption for the household.
5 people (3 adults, 2 kids) 0.5 m³ = 132.086 gal(US Liq) Now, that's quite a lot..looks like I need to make a rainwater collector for laundry,kitchen/gardening use |

Thanks for addressing my pet peeve: exorbitant water bills!
We use an average of 150 Gal per day for 4 people in Michigan, so 37.5 per person is not too bad. I have a new dual flush toilet, and will replace the other water hog from the 1960's soon. we have 2- 55 gal rain barrels to help with garden, and I don't water the grass. Daox, you didn't address the cost for water/sewer which in my area is crazy expensive! I pay the city $75/mo for the priveledge, which is double my electric bill. Is anyone else paying that much for water and sewer? Here's a nice link to a water usage estimating site: wecalc.org/ |

during a 150 gallons/day period it cost me $90 for water and sewer over a 111 day period so lets say a little under $30/month. Of course we live somewhere with lots and lots of water. Also improvements to the system are charged on our property taxes not the water bill. I'd much rather see it on the water bill but the city realized everyone would conserve if they did that so they stuffed it in the property taxes where we have no control.

Definitely a good idea. I should have done this earlier, but the poll has been added.
