It's funny how sometimes a sticker can be so expensive while being entirely worth it.

Well, besides the relay and the box, there is a neat little timer board that puts out 110vdc to the relay..

I'm not worried about my projects causing a fire, but some iron or toaster (made in China?)
causing a fire and having the insurance people come in and start looking for UL labels on my Ham Radio gear.

There is so much fine print on the policies, they really don't have to pay out anything,
if they don't want to. It's bad PR when they don't.

commercial Ham gear? I admit I never looked but I'd be surprised if my yaesu ft-60 or the much older icom 745 weren't certified somewhere. Now my antennas and a lightning strike means I'm screwed insurance wise but my antennas aren't even close to the highest things in the neighbourhood. My neighbours house with the satellite dish is

The trees across the street got hit, while I was standing in the basement.
The juice came into our house via the city water copper and did a snap-crackle&pop
all around me, while looking for a way to get to the swamp behind our house.

It killed a whole stand of pines across the street and my fancy new 4800 baud Modem..

The Amp Supply LK-450 isn't UL listed, and I don't think any of my other AC-plug-in gear is either.
Just have to keep it unplugged and hope the investigator doesn't know about ham gear.

I'll bet my permit to store gunpowder (from the local FD) would be consumed by any fire..

Hey! The inverter is here!! "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" , anyways.

Dang, I'll bet it's not UL listed!!

Are you sure the Iota auto AC transfer switch does exactly what you need? The description for this device says that it "will sense the presence of available supplies and automatically select the proper one." The description does not define how the switch decides which AC source is "the proper one." I assume it means that if one AC source stops, it will switch to a second AC source. Has anyone used this particular auto AC transfer switch for the application like Xringer's?
Thanks, Frank in Pittsburgh
