The back-bottom bench seat is all we have left to wash. The carpet is washed and drying out.
It is a big improvement. The spots on the drivers side are burn marks. Last owner must have smoked. They will get covered up with the floor mats.

Looks a tad nicer. I wonder if you'll be able to smell the difference.

Yes, it will smell much better when we are done. I bet we found $10 in change.
I am washing the back-bottom bench seat covers right now. They were a pain to get off but I could not have the backs clean and the bottoms dirty. Here is a before and after picture. Some of the foam was split on front seats I glued it back together. My son found a diamond earring under the back seat. I don’t know if it real or not. We did some internet test and it seemed to pass those. It sinks in water, it does not fog when you breath on it. It appeared to scratch glass. I will take it to a jewelry store to find out.

The carpet is in and the front seats are in.
We still need to do the back seats but he can drive his car again while they are being done. The diamond was a fake. We new it was a long shot.

I found a NOS Headlight. It is the passenger side and it still has plastic covering on it. I only found one but I have a driver’s side coming from Oregon.
Hopefully the one from Oregon will be as good shape as it looks. This one is sweet... I bought LED fog lights. He should be ready for night driving soon.

My son’s car would rattle the exhaust when you were at idle. It rattled really bad. The flex pipe was bad. All the junk yards cut out the catalytic converters and mess up the flex pipe.
I bought one off ebay $19.20 shipped. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...59224&_sacat=0 I cut the old one out and welded the new one in. It is so much better no more rattle. This was my first-time mig welding exhaust. I looked it up on YouTube and did a stitch weld. Where you weld hot but like spot weld rotating 180 degrees so it does not get to hot.

The flex pipe above was T304 Stainless Steel Double Braid w/ T409 Stainless Steel Extensions 5 year 50K warranty.
New headlights in. I bought Philips 9005 VisionPlus Upgrade Headlight bulbs for the bright. I hate them way to yellow. The NOS headlight is so sweet. The back seat is in looks so much better. We put on new wiper blades and the last tank of gas we got 30 MPG not bad for a 20 year old car.

My son now has his driver's license now. He got his license a couple days ago.
School is 39 mile round trip. He has drove last couple days. 31.5 MPG last tank. It will be interesting to see when he has a full tank on his own. He has not been driving the interstate. That make a little less MPG but time will tell. Over Xmas break we will clean up the outside of the car but it is running great.

It's good to hear the car is working out. You've put a lot of work into it.
